![]() Just Water's "Singin' In The Rain" 45 went from idea to reality in 24 hours...2:00 AM - Mitch catches some of the Singin' In The Rain movie on TV 2:30 AM - Mitch writes a punk rock arrangement of the title song 11:00 AM - The band and management assemble at Fly Studios in Brooklyn 12:00 PM - The tape is rolling and the very first take of "Singin' In The Rain" is the one that appears on the final record. The guitars, bass, and drums are all from the live take with no overdubs. 1:00 PM - Some party noises, handclaps, and background vocals are added, and a final mix is done. 2:00 PM - A local mastering lab and record plant is contracted to press the record immediately. 3:00 PM - The band goes to producer Eric Dufaure's loft for a photo shoot. The band pose in the shower with the water running. There's no time to develop all the shots, so Mitch draws the record sleeve around the photo contact sheet. 5:00 PM - Master tapes and artwork are sent off, and 10,000 copies are pressed the next day. |
